What is Doing The Thing?

Greetings!                                                                                                        November 23, 2010

It's time to get back to basics. Here is a reminder of what Doing The Thing is all about. But first, I will give you a bit of personal background. I've spent most of my life in the passenger's seat (metaphorically speaking). Doing The Thing has helped me get into the driver's seat. It is my way of life.

Below is a partial list from the book:

Doing The Thing is...

* shifting focus from what is going on around you to what is going on inside you.

* looking to yourself and your inherent wisdom for answers instead of looking to others.

* getting to know yourself better, expressing yourself in your own way, at your own pace.

* caring about yourself and caring about others without caring what others think about you.

* being genuine.

* no longer trying to fix what is not yours to fix.

* believing in and encouraging yourself.

Some days I find myself just along for the ride, but I know I have the choice. Being / feeling in charge of your own life is one of the most empowering feelings there is.

Are you in the passenger's seat, the driver's seat, or maybe a mixture of both?
Any way you look at it...what an amazing ride we're on!

Do The Thing with Heart,
Dana
