More Constructive Selfishness from Doing The Thing
Welcome back! January 23rd 2011
It's great to have you here.
One way to look at Constructive Selfishness and Doing The Thing is this: In the airplane of life...
it means putting your oxygen mask on first before assisting others, and expanding this concept
to a daily attitude.
I will share with you, a helping tool I've designed for myself when I find myself in trouble or unhappy.
Dana's Hierarchy of Well-being
(I have 2 main choices)
=
1 2
Kind to self Unkind to self
= =
Decrease pressure on self Increase pressure on self
= =
I feel relief I feel bad
= =
This relief brings relaxation, clarity, I pick on myself & those closest to me
increased intuition, inspiration & I pretend all is well to others
confidence to act on inspiration which brings insecurity & self-censorship
= =
The value I see in myself now I de-value myself, stop the flow
empowers me to add value to my world and run from my power
It all starts with the choice to be kind to myself. It ends with me enriching my world.
(Now that's my idea of philanthropic selfishness!)
I spent 8 years compiling information from a lifetime of my own profound experiences
and self-awareness. This info. is presented in my book "Doing The Thing: How
Finding Shine Will Brighten Our World".
It is my way of life and it really works!
My best to you,
Dana
